시스템생명공학은 기존 생물학의 환원주의적인 접근 방식의 한계를 극복하고 생물학적 체제들을 총괄적이고, 체계적으로 이해하는 것을 목적으로 하는 생명공학이 새로운 분야이다. 통합 유기적인 생명현상에 대한 분석능력 및 인지능력배양하기 위해 현대 생물학의 산물인 방대한 생명현상의 정보를 활용하여 새로운 차원의 생명공학기술을 도출할 수 있는 지식에 관련된 내용을 교육한다.
