경제자료의 분석처리 등 제반 연구에 필요한 기본적인 확률이론 및 통계이론을 연구하며 경제자료의 실증통계분석을 실행한다. 통계이론에서는 모수의 추정과 가설검정을 연구하며, 실증통계분석에서는 통계패키지를 사용하여 자료의 수집과 측정, 사례연구와 통계분석을 실행한다.
