"Professional Academic English" is a required course to be taken after taking "Basic Academic English". It will focus on (1) the development of written skills through in-class presentations and writing assignments, and (2) presentation skills by presenting on subjects relevant to your major. Students will get practice giving short oral presentations to both small groups and the whole class and learn how to improve their oral presentations in the areas of voice control, posture, gestures, eye-contact, organization and most importantly: confidence. This class will be conducted so that students are actively participating in pairs and groups. Brainstorming and group discussion activities will often precede writing and presentation assignments.
