Blake, Wordsworth로 이어지는 영국 낭만주의 시대로부터 Tennyson, Browning등으로 대표되는 빅토리아조 영문학을 거쳐, Eliot, Joyce, Lawrence등의 현대 영문학에 이르기까지 영문학사 후반기에 해당하는 중요한 작가를 학습하고 그들의 대표 작품을 감상함으로써 영문학 전체의 흐름을 이해한다.
