물성물리학의 한 분야인 고체물리학을 배워보자. 고체를 이루고 있는 원자배열인 결정구조를 알기 위해 주로 x선 회절법이 사용되고, 원자의 세계를 기술할 수 있는 양자역학과 양자통계학이 기초가 되는 학문이다. 교재는 Kittel의 교재를 선택하였다.
