정역학, 동역학 및 고체역학을 기초로 하여 외력이 작용할 때 보, 트러스, 라멘, 아치 등의 정정 및 부정정 구조물에 발생하는 단면 내력, 반력, 변위를 해석하는 이론과 방법을 다룬다. 구조물의 변위 해석 방법으로 직접 적분법, 모멘트 면적법, 공액보법. 가상일의 방법, Casitgliano 정리를 이용한 방법을 다루고 부정정구조물의 해석 방법으로는 변위 일치의 방법, 3연모멘트법, 최소일의 방법과 같은 유연도법과 처짐각법, 모멘트 분배법 같은 강성도법을 다룬다. 마지막으로 행렬방법의 기본 원리를 소개한다
