The focus of this Asia and Latin America win-win cooperation course is to an understanding of how the unique historical experiences of East Asian and Latin American countries have helped hindered the development of their relations politically, economically and socially. By examining the historical development of trade between the two regions, students will discover a deeper understanding of concepts related to international trade, regional and multilateral organizations, and the dominant economic theories governing modern multifaceted relations. Designed as a seminar course of instruction, students will be expected to work independently, as well as, part of a small group to fulfill the expectations of this course. Students will be instructed in the ways to write essays (midterm & final exams) and an individual presentation (case study) as part of his/her course evaluation.
