1.	Lecture 1 Introduction to the course; Essay: “Reading the Poetics of J. M. Synge” (YJK vol. 42, pp. 179-195)	Why do we study poetry? We read an essay on Synge’s work. Most of the essays are accessed at http://yeatssociety.or.kr and click on back issues.

2.	Lecture 3 Yeats and Renoir, and Impressionism (YJK vol. 31)	Read Ashbery’s poem, “Illustration.” Read “Yeats and Renoir.”
	Lecture 4 Yeats and Maud Gonne; read a poem, “A Bronze Head”	Read Yeats’s “A Bronze Head” and read an essay.
3.	Lecture 5 Yeats’s Poem, “Nineteen Hundred and Nineteen”	We discuss form and content of this poem. Its structural principle is that which is found in Paul Cezanne’s: the architectonics in art work.

13.	Lecture 25 The Supernational Elements in Yeats’s Purgatory	We look at the Irish Theatre Movement led by Yeats and Lady Gregory. Finish reading the essay and read the play.
	Lecture 26 Yeats and Ecology	We read Wordsworth’s and Yeats’s ecological poems, and also read an essay, “Yeats and Ecology.”
