◎ 강의 개요(Course Overview)∙ 한국에서 약 천 년 동안 지배이념으로 작용한 불교는 신앙과 사상이라는 추상적 형태로만이 아닌, 승려와 사찰이라는 구체적 실체로, 법과 제도라는 현실적 규정으로 존재하였다. 수업에서는 불교와 함께 전래되어온 승려와 사찰이 한국사 속에서 어떤 활동을 펼치고 어느 정도의 위상을 점하였는지 구체적 사례와 법 규정을 통해 살펴봄으로써 한국 사회와 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있던 불교적 요소의 깊이 있는 이해를 도모한다.∙ Buddhism, which served as the dominant ideology in Korea for nearly a thousand years, existed not only in the abstract form of faith and ideas but also as concrete entities in the form of monks and temples and realistic regulations in the form of laws and institutions.
