본 강좌는 한반도를 포함하여 동아시아 지역의 농업의 역사가 가진 독특한 성격 그리고 그 형성 및 발전 과정을 파악하고, 나아가 이러한 성격을 지닌 동아시아 지역의 농업사가 농업뿐만 아니라 사회나 국가에 미친 영향을 검토하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 강좌에서는 농업사를 일국사적 관점에서 이해해왔던 기존 연구 경향에서 벗어나 동아시아적 관점을 도입할 것이다. 강의 내용을 통해서 수강생들은 중국과 한국 그리고 일본과 베트남이라는 동아시아 지역이 농업을 매개로 하나의 문화권을 이루어나간 과정을 확인할 수 있을 것이다. 아울러 본 강좌에서는 한국학을 포함하여 인문학 전반에서 확인되는 서양 중심적 관점 (Euro-Centrism)에 대해서, 또한 최근 전지구적인 아젠다가 되고 있는 지속가능성이라는 주제에 대해서 성찰하고 접근해보는 기회를 갖게 될 것이다.This course aims to understand the unique characteristics of the agricultural history of East Asia, including the Korean Peninsula, and the process of its formation and development.
