강의 개요(Course Overview)한국사에서 근대시대는 전통체제가 무너지고 새로운 문물이 들어오던 격변의 시대이다. 한국의 전통종교였던 불교도, 당시에 모든 이들이 그랬던 것처럼, 새로운 시대 속에서 자신의 정체성을 지키면서도 시대 변화에 적응하려고 노력해왔다. 본 강의에서는 근대시대에 활약했던 한국불교사상가들을 소개하며, 이들의 삶을 통해 불교와 한국의 근대시대를 좀 더 입체적으로 조망해본다. Modern period in Korean history was a time of rapid change in which traditional systems collapsed and a new civilization was introduced. Like all other religions, Buddhism, which was a traditional Korean religion, has tried to adjust to historical changes while maintaining its own identity in a new period.
