Each week, Resource Review experts recommend top resources which are put to the test, giving teachers the ability to make informed decisions regarding the most effective resources ranging from the best publications to the most applicable pieces of software. Freelance educational writer Gill Budgell, chooses three resources for primary English: Collin's 'Big Cat' reading scheme from Harper, 'Reading Comprehension Cubes' from Learning Resources, and 'Story Catcher', a free website which offers a forum for children's writing. In her London classroom, Louise Newman uses books from the Collin's 'Big Cat' series to teach her Key Stage 1 class about verbs and adjectives, while in Southport, Caroline Williams uses 'Reading Comprehension Cubes' with her Key Stage 2 class. In the studio, Gill joins presenter Hermione Cockburn to discuss the resources with panellists Barbara Conridge from NATE and Adrienne Jones, a freelance education consultant.
