At Marjorie McClure Special School, pupils are involved in planning PE lessons, adapting the equipment and rules whist learning how to become team leaders. Award-winning advanced skills teacher Guy Wilkins offers insights into the benefits of PE with secondary pupils, focusing on peer tutoring, evaluation and cross-curriculum opportunities. Pupils gain self-esteem from the activities achieving their personal goals. Local trainee teachers attend these lessons where the pupils demonstrate how they are working to ensure inclusion in a range of PE activities.
