Primary Teacher of The Year 2005 Trevelyan May is a young teacher fully enthused by the possibilities that both his job and pupils offer. In looking at his work we find out what makes him an inspiring figure within his school and the genuine care he has for his pupils. It means that each lesson is tailored to their learning needs in fresh and exciting ways which uses technology to great effect. It's not surprising that Trevelyan sees himself as similar to an actor in some ways. His lessons are packed with games and challenges as he motivates pupils to learn and build on their successes. Through meeting his colleagues it is clear that Trevelyan is essential to the well-being of his school and the headmaster describes why he took the unusual step of employing him in both of the schools he has run. Outside the classroom Trevelyan's skills are again in evidence as he leads the choir and thanks to his award, prepares for a trip to Antarctica to help set up an educational website.
