본 강좌는 외국어 학습 이론을 공부하는 것이 주된 목적이다. 구체적인 목표는 (1) 모국어 및 제2언어의 발전단계와 학습 환경, (2) 개인차와 제2언어학습의 연관성, (3) 행동주의자, 생득론자, 인지주의자, 사회문화론자의 제2언어를 설명하는 방법, (4) 교실학습의 신장을 위한 6가지 제안으로 이루어진다.

The lesson goal is to study several theories that have been suggested as explanations for how language is learned. The objectives are (1) to examine learning contexts as well as learner characteristics as well as the developmental sequences in the acquisition of the first and second languages; (2) to see how individual characteristics are related to second language learning; (3) to study how behaviorist, innativist, cognitivist, and sociocultural theorists explain L2 learning; and (4) to review six proposals to promote language learning in the classroom.

차시별 강의

1.	모국어(영어) 습득 단계	본 수업은 아동의 모국어 발전단계를 학습하는 것이 목적이다. The purpose of the lesson is to study the language development of young children as a first language.
2.	모국어 습득 이론	본 수업은 모국어 학습을 설명하는 다양한 이론을 학습하는 것이다. The lesson goal is to study several theories that have been suggested as explanations for how language is learned.
3.	제2언어 학습	본 수업의 첫째 목적은 모국어 및 외국어 학습자 및 환경과 학습자 오류분석방법을 학습한다. 두번째 목적은 제2언어에서 통사적 요소와 형태소의 발전단계를 학습한다. The lesson goal is to examine learning contexts as well as learner characteristics and the way to analyze the learner errors. Another goal is to study stages and sequences in the acquisition of some syntactic and morphological features in the second language.
4.	제2언어 학습 : 발전단계	본 수업의 목적은 제2언어에서 어휘, 화용, 음운의 발전단계를 학습한다. The lesson goal is to study stages and sequences in the acquisition of vocabulary, pragmatics, and phonology in the second language.
5.	개인차 변인(1)	본 수업의 목적은 지능, 적성, 학습스타일, 개성과 같은 개인의 특성이 제2언어학습과 연관성을 학습하는 것이다. The lesson goal is to examine how individual characteristics such as intelligence, aptitude, learning styles, and personality are related to second language learning.
6.	개인차 변인(2)	본 수업의 목적은 태도 및 동기, 자아와 학습자 믿음, 연령 및 결정시기가 제2언어학습에 영향을 주는 지를 학습한다. The lesson goal is to see if attitudes and motivation, identity, learner beliefs, and age influence second language learning.
7.	제2언어학습이론(1)	본 수업은 행동주의자, 생득론자, 인지주의자가 제2언어학습을 설명하는 방법을 학습한다. The lesson is to examine how the behaviorist, innativist, and cognitivist explain second language learning.
8.	제2언어학습이론(2)	본 수업은 인지심리학자의 수업적용방식을 학습하고, 사회문화 이론이 제2언어학습을 설명하는 법을 공부한다. The first lesson goal is to study how cognitive psychologists suggest the teaching application in the second language. The second lesson goal is to see how sociocultural theory explains the second language learning.
9.	제2언어교실학습: 교실대화 분석	본 수업은 자연적 언어습득환경과 교실학습의 차이점과 유사성을 학습한다. The lesson is to examine how natural contexts are different from the classroom learning.
10.	제2언어교실학습 : 선행 연구결과	본 수업은 교실수업에서 교사의 피드백과 질문에 관한 선행연구결과를 고찰하는 것이다. The lesson is to look over the previous research findings about corrective feedback and teacher questions in the L2 classroom.
11.	제2언어 학습제안(1)	본 수업의 목표는 교실학습을 신장하는 두 가지 제안, "학습초기의 정확도 신장"과 "이해 가능한 입력 제공"을 학습하는 것이다. The lesson goal is to explore two proposals to promote language learning in the classroom: "Get it right from the beginning" and "Just Listen and Read".
12.	제2언어 학습제안(2)	본 수업은 제2언어학습을 신장하는 제안, "발화위주의 수업"과 "내용과 언어의 융합"을 학습하는 것이다. The lesson goal is to examine two proposals to promote second language learning: "Lets talk" and "Get two for one".
13.	제2언어 학습제안(3)	본 수업은 교실수업을 향상하는 두 가지 제안, "교수 가능한 학습"과 "형탵초점수업"을 학습하는 것이다. The lesson goal is to study two proposals to promote classroom learning: " Teach what is teachable" and "Get it right in the end."
