Welcome to the class of History of Modern English Literature. This course is designed to offer students a comprehensive understanding of history of Modern English literature and to also help students get a solid grip on the important concepts and methods in literary scholarships. For this purpose, we will selectively read the extracts of some representative literary works, along with surveying the literary and historical background of Modern English literature.

Our ultimate goal is to train you to be a better critical thinker who can appreciate and express the depth of great modern English literature by enhancing your literary and philosophical perception of the profound and diverse themes and styles of each literary work in English literature.
