본 강의의 목적은 경제학의 기본이론을 소개하는데 있다. 특히 본과목이 무역학과 학생을 대상으로 하기 때문에 무역학과에서 필요한 경제학의 기본 이론체계를 집중적으로 강의한다. 경제학체계는 미시경제학과 거시경제학으로 크게 구분할 수 있다. 우선 미시경제학에서는 각 경제주체의 경제행동목표를 분석한다. 우선 소비자의 경제행동목표인 효용극대화이론과 생산자의 경제행동목표인 이윤극대화에 개해서 알아본다. 또한 상품시장과 생산요소시장에서의 균형조건을 분석한다. 이를 기초로해서 개방경제 하에서 국가간의 교역이 발생하는 이유를 알아본다. 거시경제학에서는 우선 폐쇄경제를 대상으로 국민소득의 결정, 화폐금융론, 실업 및 인플레이션에 대해서 알아본다. 이를 기초로 개방경제 하에서 국민소득의 결정, 화폐금융론, 실업 및 인플레이션에 대해서 알아본다.
