Basic theories and astronomical techniques for photometric, and spectrosroscopic observations will be treated in this class. In particular, radiative transfer theories in the atmospheres of planetary objects will be covered. Tenuous atmospheres around the Moon, Mercury, and Io will also be discussed. Auroral emission process at high-altitudes will be treated.
