The objectives of this course are to:

- enhance the students awareness of mechanical and electrical systems in buildings

- understand how the architects decisions affect the built environment and building performance

- enhance the students ability to appropriate building equipments

- understand necessity for interaction and communication with others(engineers, clients, consultants) in professional practice.



To achieve this objectives, the course goals include the ability to understand:

- basic concepts of mechanical and electrical systems in buildings

- fundamentals of HVAC systems

- fundamental of plumbing systems

- fundamentals of electrical and fire protection systems

- methods for selecting appropriate building mechanical and electrical systems.
