본 강좌는 삼국시대 및 통일신라 시기의 불상과 탑 등에 새겨진 명문의 내용을 통하여 한국 고대 사회에서 불교 신앙이 수용, 정착되는 모습을 살펴보는 강좌입니다.

This course examines the epigraph carved on Buddhist statues and pagodas among the relics handed down to the temples in Korea. We will investigate when and under what historical background such relics were created through the contents of inscriptions engraved on Buddhist statues and pagodas during the Three Kingdoms Period and Unified Silla Period. Completing the course, the learners can have a broad understanding of ancient Korean Buddhist culture, Buddhist beliefs, and Korean ancient Korean society.

불교 수용 초기부터 만들어진 불상과 탑 등에는 그 제작 배경과 만든 사람들의 바람이 새겨져 있습니다. 그 내용을 살펴봄으로써 당시 사회에서 불상과 탑 등의 위상과 제작 과정, 시대에 따른 불교 신앙의 변화, 승려와 신자들의 관계, 신분에 따른 신앙 양태의 차이 등 한국 고대 불교의 다양한 모습을 구체적으로 이해할 수 있을 것입니다.
