Thanks to headteacher and maths co-ordinator Kate Frood and her team, pupils at Eleanor Palmer Primary in north London achieve well above average National Test results in maths. The key in Year 6 is to ensure that pupils are secure and confident with their mathematical knowledge and skills, and we see the class teacher consolidating her pupils' understanding of different methods of subtraction. We also follow the headteacher as she does detailed lesson sampling to assess individual pupil progress, and sit in on the professional discussion afterwards. To conclude, the KS2 team share the secret of their success - sharing ideas, talking about maths, communicating their enthusiasm for maths, and inspiring leadership!
