What's it really like to see a lesson from a pupil's point of view? A Year 9 student is wired up with a small camera to offer a fresh perspective on a geography lesson. Harlington Secondary School in Bedfordshire are used to using pupil voice to inform their teaching, but now this is being taken a step further: using the 'pupil-cam' to discover just what does the teacher looks and sounds like from the 3rd row, and how hard is it to concentrate if someone next to you is playing with a pencil case? After the lesson, the Head of the Geography, Thomas Rowell, holds a feedback session with the pupils. He shows them key pieces of footage from the 'pupil-cam' to find out what they thought of the lesson. In another classroom the pupils' geography teacher, NQT Nikki Hall observes the students as they comment. This programme examines how pupil feedback can be effectively utilised to enhance pedagogy.
