The targeting audience of this course is 1st year students from the college of pharmacy. Throughout the course, students will study Mendelian inheritance, transmission systems, regulation of cellular processes, developmental genetics, cytoplasmic inheritance, the molecular basis of gene function and mutation, population genetics. The course also will introduce the recent advances in biotechnology, including the sequencing technology which allows Human Genome Project and CRISPR genetic engineering technology which is required fgene therapy.
