A critical issue in the labor market is the demand-supply mismatch of skilled workforce, largely due to HEIs failing to meet the needs of the economy. In particular, engineering schools need to develop more industrially relevant programs based on an acute understanding of actual needs, which in turn requires more industrial participation in academic developments. This session will discuss the roles of industries in reforming engineering education, such as joint curricular development, industry-university exchanges, cultivating best collaboration practices, and enhancing the workplace adaptability of university students.
