다양한 종류의 유기화합물의 기본적인 구조 및 명명법을 소개하고, 이러한 분자들이 참여하 는 치환, 제거, 산화, 환원, 라디칼반응과 같은 다양한 화학반응의 기초이론을 다룬다. 아울러, 유기 화합물의 분자 간 인력에서부터 여러 화학반응을 지배하는 기초 물리화학적 특성을 이해시키며 이러한 기초이론을 토대로 IT, NT, ET, BT와 관련되는 신기술 및 융합 응용 기술을 연계시켜 실용지식을 함양시킨다.
