The e-Learning lecture data provided by KOCW is configured and provided with the following types of copyright use permission.
- Use permission according to the Creative Commons License
- Use permission restricted to read only
Some of the e-Learning lecture data provided by KOCW are provided without any restriction, based on the Creative Commons License (hereafter “CCL”).
CCL component
CCL allows the copyright holder’s work to be used by everyone without any limitation under the certain condition. CCL is expressed by the icons, and its components are as follows.

The components described above are combined and displayed on the work. Non-derivation and Sharealike cannot be used at the same time, and all combinations require displaying the writer. As a result, the copyright can be practically displayed by the following 6 types.

- Q: What the word “use” means in CCL?
- A: The word “use” in terms of CCL implies all types of copyright uses such as retrieval, editing, and copy. CCL allows this “use” under that certain presented conditions.
- Q: Do I have to obtain permission or make payment to the original writer in order to use the e-Learning lecture data applied with CCL?
- A: “Applied with CCL” means that the user doesn’t have to obtain permission or make separate payment to use the work, provided that the CCL conditions are conformed. However, original writer’s separate permission is required if the user use the work in a different way than the one displayed by CCL.
- Q: What should I do, if I want to use the non-commercial e-Learning lecture data for the commercial purpose?
- A: You need to get permission from the original writer to use the non-commercial e-Learning lecture data for the commercial use.
- Q: What should I do put the writer mark proposed by CCL?
- A: Legal Code, Chapter 4 of CCL provides the details about marking. Describing briefly, the copied or duplicated work should contain the original writer and the tile, as in the original work. If the location of the work is specified, the corresponding URL and other information also should be displayed. In addition, for the secondary work, the information on the original writer should be displayed explicitly when displaying the secondary work’s writer information.
- Q: The ‘Sharealike” condition is difficult to understand. Please explain it in simple terms.
- A: : The “Sharealike” condition means that when creating the secondary work using the original work applied with CCL, the same condition CCL with the original work should be applied and displayed to the secondary work, besides the original work. If these conditions are not met, creation of the secondary work is not allowed.
- Q: What happens if the CCL information displayed by service, which provides the actual e-Learning lecture data, is different from the one provided by KOCW?
- A: The CCL condition that is valid at the time of the use takes precedence. Therefore, please conform to the CCL condition displayed on service that provides the actual e-Learning lecture data.
